AcuDC DC 240 Install Guide

We walk you through the key steps to installing the AcuDC 240 in a number of configurations.

DC Voltage and Current Connection

There are different ways in which the voltage and current can be wired for the AcuDC 240 DC voltage, current, power and energy meter.

Voltage Wiring

Voltage can be wired in two ways: direct wiring or wiring using a voltage Hall Effect sensor. Below are figures outlining the wiring of each.

Current Wiring

Current can be wired in three different ways: direct wiring, wiring using a shunt and wiring using a current Hall Effect sensor. Figure 3, 4 and 5, respectively, outline the three methods of wiring.

Typical Voltage and Current Wiring Diagram for Systems

You can wire the voltage and current for different systems based on the different methods above. Here are the common wiring methods used:

  1. Direct voltage connection and a direct current connection (See Figure 6)
  2. Direct voltage connection and a current connection using a shunt (See Figure 7)
  3. Direct voltage connection and a current connection using a current Hall Effect sensor (See Figure 8)

Power Supply Connection

Caution: Check the silver sticker on the side of the meter to confirm which power supply option the meter supports before energizing it. The silver sticker will list details such as the model number, power supply, voltage/current inputs and serial number.

To power the meter connect the power supply terminal as shown in Figure 9.

Power Supply Connection

This will be connected based on the two power supply options available, that is:

  1. The Standard option: 100-240Vac, 50/60Hz or 100-300Vdc
  2. The Low Voltage DC option: 20-60Vdc
